Justin Verlander dominates Mariners for first victory in two years

Verlander can take the team onto his broad shoulders and carry it back toward normal.
Verlander dismantled the Mariners in a vintage display of his dominance. He struck out seven and did not issue a walk during Houston’s 4-0 win. Seattle mustered four baserunners against him. None passed first base. Verlander’s entire four-pitch arsenal appeared untouchable. He induced 17 swings and misses while surrendering just three singles. Verlander had early issues with his slider, but self-corrected quickly in the first inning. Six of his eight strikeouts concluded on it.
