KadyMcDermott says she was replaced by another LoveIsland star last year
Love Island OG Kady McDermott has revealed she was due to head back to the iconic villa last year, but she was replaced.
The reality star was hesitant about taking part, even after agreeing to join this summer’s series. She continued: “A part of me was like, ‘I’m not doing it, I’m not doing it’ - I was still 50/50 from the moment I walked into the villa, I was like ‘what am I doing?’ but with me, I don’t want to be like, in 10 years’ time, ‘oh I wish I’d done that’. I’d rather have been like, ‘oh s**t, I did that’.”
Podcast co-host Pete didn’t hold back when discussing the rise in people wishing to take part in shows like Love Island, describing a cultural shift and attitude change now there’s been so many reality stars who’ve gone on to fame and fortune. Reflecting on her experience and her original co-stars’ naivete about the world of reality television and what it could lead to, Kady said: “Season two, the people were just so different - we all went on there and maybe thought we’d get some free clothes after.”
