Police are continuing the search for 11-year-old girl Kaitlyn Easson, who has been missing from Galashiels since yesterday evening.
Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that may help trace the schoolgirl, last seen at around 5.30pm on Sunday February 5, in the town centre after leaving a friend's house. An unconfirmed second sighting of Kaitlyn has been reported on Melrose Road at about 5.45pm on the same day.
As of now, officials have do not believe that Kaitlyn has come to any harm but there are concerns for her wellbeing. Partners aiding in the search include both Borders water and mountain rescue teams. Speaking at a press conference on Monday afternoon, Chief Superintendent Catriona Paton said: “At this moment in time, I have no information to suggest that Kaitlyn has come to harm and therefore, we are doing everything that we can to make sure that we trace her safe and well.
“As I'm sure you can imagine, her family is already experiencing incredible distress at the moment, so continuing to keep that open mind and continuing to keep focused on what we know will hopefully get us to the point where we trace her safe and well.”Anyone with any information can contact police by calling 101 and quoting reference number 3314.READ NEXT:
