British number one Katie Boulter loses in straight sets to Ukraine's Lesia Tsurenko in the Wuhan Open first round.
Katie Boulter is out of the Wuhan Open after a straight-set defeat by Ukrainian qualifier Lesia Tsurenko.Boulter fell 3-0 down in a topsy-turvy first set that produced six breaks of serve, including five in a row, with Tsurenko taking it in 43 minutes.
The second set was more competitive, with Tsurenko making the decisive break in the 11th game before holding serve to seal victory.Spanish 14th seed Paula Badosa pulled out of the event on Tuesday citing a gastrointestinal illness. On Monday, she was forced to apologise after being accused of racism on social media because of a photograph where she appeared to mock Chinese people.
