Katy ISD graduates are going out with a bang this year as the district is integrating fireworks shows into graduation ceremonies.
For the first time in Katy ISD’s history, the district will host a brief 45 second firework display at the conclusion of each graduation ceremony, according to a Facebook post by the district on Monday.Graduation ceremonies are scheduled nightly from May 18-26 at Legacy Stadium and typically end around 9:30 p.m.
The district has contracted with a professional pyrotechnics company to administer each fireworks display, the district announcement said, and the company will also provide additional safety staff for the fireworks display.
