One of KellyClarkson's dreams came true during an episode of her TV talk show with special guest CyndiLauper CyndiLauper.
to promote an upcoming benefit concert for her True Colors Fund, Lauper invited Clarkson to duet with her on a stripped-down version of her 1986 hit "True Colors." The resulting performance found the duo beautifully harmonizing and trading verses while Lauper provided backing music on the dulcimer.
“Life made! I’m not kidding, that was a dream come true for me. Thank you!” Clarkson said after the moving performance. alum has performed one of Lauper's songs. On the last stop of her Meaning of Life tour earlier this year, Clarkson covered "Time After Time" with opening act Kelsea Ballerini. During the interview, Lauper also revealed that Clarkson's music -- particularly her 2011 hit "Stronger ” -- has helped her through some rough times.
“Whenever I was feeling really downtrodden, I would sing along with you,” Lauper told a flattered Clarkson. Lauper's annual Home for the Holidays concert will take place Dec. 10 at the Novo Theater in Los Angeles. Proceeds from the show will benefit her nonprofit True Colors Fund, which aims to end homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.
