Virtual performances by KellyClarkson, JoshGroban and more helped bring in about $700,000 for Project Angel Food's COVID-19 emergency fund
The “Lead with Love: Project Angel Food Emergency Telethon” program, which aired on KTLA 5 on Saturday night from 7 to 9 p.m., raised about $701,000 as of Sunday, according to the"Lead With Love" was hosted by KTLA’s Jessica Holmes with Sheryl Lee Ralph and Eric McCormack and also featured brief appearances by several stars, including"We have always worked to make sure the most vulnerable people in the world are protected and cared for with love and compassion.
Musical performances included Clarkson , Groban , Lennox , Green , Billy Idol , Kristin Chenoweth , Deborah Cox and Juan Pablo di Pace . Project Angel Food first launched in 1989 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and, 30 years later, is continuing to serve Los Angeles' diverse community during the coronavirus pandemic. The organization has been cooking and delivering medically-tailored meals, free of charge, to people with life-threatening illnesses who are at high risk for COVID-19. Throughout the past two months, Project Angel Food has been serving 2,000 people each day.
