Conway was seen inside the Capitol building on Monday, with sources telling NBC News she was meeting with the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack. The Trump administration official was not subpoenaed publicly for her cooperation, but spokespeople for the committee reportedly declined to confirm whether she’s appearing voluntarily. The former White House counselor, who served under former President Donald Trump from 2017 to 2020, has previously been critical of the Jan. 6 committee, slamming lawmakers for failing to cross-examine witnesses before allowing them to testify publicly. Conway also accused the panel in June of not having “the balls to call Trump” to testify.
It’s unclear what information the panel is hoping to get from Conway’s testimony, and a spokesperson for the committee has not responded to a request for comment by the Washington Examiner.
