House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) says he wants an answer to who brought cocaine into the White House after the Secret Service announced it had closed the investigation with no suspect.
On Thursday, Secret Service agents briefed House lawmakers and staff about their investigation into the cocaine found at the White House on July 2 and what it meant for security at the White House. They also announced the investigation had been closed due to a lack of physical evidence.“It seems to me that Biden Inc. strikes again,” McCarthy said.
Despite the case being closed, McCarthy said he still wants to see a conclusion to the investigation and have it end with the Secret Service finding the person who brought the cocaine into the White House.According to members of the House Oversight Committee who attended the briefing by the Secret Service, the list of who could have left the bag of cocaine in the West Wing had been narrowed down to about 500 people.
