A pair of games with 11 assists gives Houston's point guard an extra face to his offense

“I wouldn’t say that. I don’t really believe in the pass-first or pass-second,” Porter, 22, said. “I’ve just been able to balance sharing the ball and taking my shots, knowing my guys, where they like the ball and just getting them where they’re open. It’s been easy to read these last couple games. I want to continue to do that and find my shots, too.”
“He’s been so good lately with his passes,” Rockets coach Stephen Silas said. “He had 11 assists , but he also had five hockey assists. That tells me he is moving in the right direction. If that means he’s going to give us even more at some point, I’m with it.” His ability to do so many things might keep him from focusing, or perhaps even yet mastering any one of them. But as with his recent nights spent playmaking, having choices of things to do well is potentially better in the long run.
