We chat with KillingIt star Rell Battle about returning to the hit Peacock comedy for season 2, diving deeper into the character of Isaiah, and more:

Now I'm in a place where I have to figure out a way how to survive and deal with my past sins, and that means I’ve got to go back to what I know best: back into the world, [and] into the life of my big brother Craig. He's been there for me, even though he could hate my guts sometimes, even though I'm not talking to him, [and] I’ve got to link back up with him for my own well-being. It’s a pretty vague answer because I don’t want to give away too much, but, you know, you get it.
Rell Battle: In theater, you're taught [that] there's no such thing as a bad guy. There’s always a reason why he does the actions that he does. [It’s like] that saying, “One person’s terrorist is somebody else's freedom fighter.” You have to kind of find the reasons he makes the decisions that he makes, and you have to make them relatable. That's where the funny comes in. You can't just hate a guy; you’ve got to be a guy people love to hate.
I don't want to spoil things, but you're pretty featured in one of the early episodes of this, which is awesome. How did it feel for you doing that? Was it awesome, or was it pressure? Rell Battle: Everybody was always super dope. Tim Heidecker… [With] me and him last year, that was dope every single day. We’ve got fire guest artists here, bro. We’ve got Kyle Mooney [from] SNL. We’ve got a whole episode with him. He's killing it. We just had a ball. We just had so many great guest stars that I was excited to work with. I can’t think of a show that has that much comedic talent coming on in one season. I'm biased, but I think we did a great job.
