Tributes to be paid to Tommy Burns by Kilmarnock & Celtic as plans are revealed.
A legend of both clubs, on the anniversary of his sad passing in 2008, supporters, players and club officials will join together to remember the much-loved figure of either team.Celtic fans will also display a tifo, paying tribute to Burns before the match.The group's statement on the matter reads:"On the anniversary of the death of Celtic's greatest son, our current heroes are on the cusp of closing another epic chapter in our magical Celtic story.
"Tommy Burns lived for Celtic. Through his immortal example, the fans and team will cross the finish line as one. "We kindly ask all fans to arrive early, raise your material as the champions-elect enter the field and use Tommy's memory to inspire vociferous support throughout."It's understood that no special access has been granted to the group to prepare the tifo ahead of the game in Ayrshire.
Burns is best known for his long and successful association with Celtic as a player, manager and coach. He pulled on the green & white hoops between 1971 and 89 before spending five years as a player & manager with Killie.
