A new documentary will see King Charles make a rare appearance as he meets a group of women who travelled to London to witness his mother's coronation in 1953
King Charles has revealed heavy apprehensions weighing him down before his coronation and offered a glimpse into his early family life, in a new documentary. 'Coronation Girls' tells the story of 50 Canadian women who, in their youth, crossed the Atlantic Ocean to witness Queen Elizabeth II's crowning in the summer of 1953. The film follows a dozen of these women, now with an average age of 89, as they revisit London this past December.
I've never forgotten, I can still remember it vividly. 'It is very important to wear it for a certain amount of time, because you get used to it then. But the big one that you're crowned with, the St Edward's Crown, it weighs five pounds.' Being crowned King is not just about saying the right words and sitting in the right chair, it also involves some dexterity.
