Knox Street towers get planning okay for project north of downtown Dallas
Michael Dell s MSD Capital LP, Trammell Crow Co. and Dallas' The Retail Connection have teamed up on a high-rise mixed-use development on Knox Street.One of Dallas’ biggest development projects just got the go-ahead from the city’s planning commission.
Dallas-developer Trammell Crow Co. is working in partnership with Austin billionaire Michael Dell’s family investment firm to build the 4-acre high-rise project on Knox Street just east of Highland Park.Dell’s MSD Capital LP, Crow Co.’s High Street Residential and Dallas’ The Retail Connection are teaming up on the ambitious project.
The developers first needed approvals from Dallas’ plan commission for additional height and density for the property.The tallest of the three buildings on Travis Street would have 18 floors of luxury condos built on top of a small hotel.Deluxe hotel operator Auberge Resorts Collection will manage the planned 100-room hotel.
The New York office of Australia-based Woods Bagot, New York-based Kohn Pederson Fox and Dallas’ HKS are designing the development. OJB Landscape Architecture will also work on the project.The 4-acre high-rise project will stretch along Travis Street south of Knox and includes luxury residential units, a boutique hotel, retail, offices and a new park.
