Furious Brooks Koepka admits trying to smash into his car after last year's Masters
Masters leader Brooks Koepka has revealed he tried to smash a car window with his hand after missing the cut in 2022 – but failed… despite numerous attempts.at Augusta National this year after reaching 12-under-par in his second round., which followed his frustrating and brief appearance at the previous Masters.
“Last year, I don’t even know if I should be saying this, but pretty sure I tried to break the back window of the car with my fist,” Koepka told reporters on Friday afternoon. “I tried to put it through the back window, not once but twice. First time didn’t go, so figured try it again. The window did not break.
Koepka won two US Opens and two PGA Championships between 2017 and 2019, with many expecting him to dominate the major championship scene for years to come.But a persistent knee problem in 2022 had Koepka questioning his future at the elite level – and ultimately led to him quitting the PGA Tour and joiningNow that he is fully fit, recent reports have suggested the American is having second thoughts over the controversial breakaway circuit.
With ongoing criticism over the sporting integrity of the Saudi-backed circuit, Koepka gave an interesting answer when asked if his decision to join LIV would’ve been more difficult if he was healthy at the time.“But I’m happy with the decision I made.”
