The Light Blues confirmed tonight that the former QPR boss has been axed from his role less than one year after taking over the top job from Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Kris Boyd has named the key areas that have cost Michael Beale his job with Jack Butland the ONLY summer recruit who can keep his head held high.
He has guided the club to the semi-final of the Viaplay Cup with Hearts waiting at Hampden with the Ibrox side potentially just two games away from silverware this season. He also got off to a winning start in the Europa League against Real Betis but performances have been well off what supporters expect and they've made themselves known in recent weeks. Recruitment is another key area that hasn't worked out with new No1 Butland the only one who has stepped up to the plate.

I think it all comes down to recruitment again, and Jack Butland is the only one of the arrivals who can keep his head held high at this moment in time. The rest have been nowhere near it and are going to have to improve.
