The Bears fell victim to an opening-day upset against Texas State and will look to right the ship against a Utes squad climbing the rankings.. Backup quarterback Bryson Barnes managed the offense, and the defense held an SEC team to just a field goal in the first half.
The Bears put up 31 points and 524 total yards against Texas State, so the Utes will have to bring a little more firepower on the offensive end to start 2-0 on their quest for a College Football Playoff berth.As mentioned above, the Bears had no problem moving the ball in Week 1. Quarterback Blake Shapen threw for 303 yards but is out against the Utes with an MCL injury.
The defense will have to step up after allowing 441 yards against Texas State and hope the Utah offense remains grounded after a lackluster opening performance.
