Bus drivers from the nation's second-largest public school district paraded around downtown L.A. to demand funding to help schools in the state reopen safely. On Thursday, California became the first state to report over 600,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
Earlier in July, the LAUSD announced, alongside the San Diego Unified School District, that school in Los Angeles would resume on August 18 but online only.
