Among other gifts the mayor also declined included a $97 necklace, $100 mobile tablet, a $260 custom jersey from MLS club LAFC, a wardrobe worth $400 and $220 worth of ski shirts and jackets, according to Welsh’s report. stating that “gifts from reportable sources are limited to $590 per source per year.”
Elected officials are prohibited from accepting gifts, however they can accept items worth up to $100 if they are sent from a restricted source, such as a person who has financial ties to the city.Los Angeles Ethics CommissionBass has reportedly received more than 130 gifts since she was sworn in as Los Angeles’ mayor in December.Kardashian’s swag bag for Bass totaled $600, and was packed with everything from her shapewear brand Skims, to liquor, and hot sauce.
Welsh’s report shows that the Los Angeles Dodgers sent Bass a $229 gift consisting of a custom jersey, sweatshirt and yearbook — all of which were declined.
