But always one to keep us on our toes, Gaga switched things up for the film’s premiere in Italy this weekend. Championing another Italian fashion label—Versace—she wore a fiery new interpretation of one of its iconic ’90s dresses.
The laced-up, corset-style Versace gown featured a high slit and would have looked at home on Jessica Rabbit. The custom design from Donatella Versace is actually based on a frock that walked down the Versace runway for their , designed by her brother, the late Gianni Versace. Brought to the present day, however, the bodycon silhouette felt just as fresh and modern . The choice to forgo Gucci for a night and pay homage to another Italian trailblazer on her tour was certainly a thoughtful choice on Gaga’s part. It broke up the repetition of seeing her in the same label over and again, yet still channeled the exuberant spirit of Italian fashion.
