Lancashire weather forecast as heavy rain to batter county amid Met Office warning
Much of the north of England is subject to a yellow weather warning due to the amount of rain expected to fall. Met Office forecasters say this means there's a chance of flooding, along with spray and flooding causing difficulty while driving.
It also means a risk of delays and cancellations to public services and the possibility of communities being cut off by flooded road. Lancashire is not subject to this warning but areas immediately outside its border are and the county is still forecast to endure a day of heavy rain. The Met Office forecast for the region on Thursday daytime states: "Rain will linger across the region today with some heavy bursts at times, particularly over the hills.
For the evening, it says: "Rain will ease a little through the evening and overnight, although there will still be a few downpours at times. Staying cloudy and frost free. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
