“I was shooting to win this season. It’s amazing to have gotten this award. I was not expecting it, but I really appreciate it. I’ve worked really hard this season. It’s nice to get the acknowledgment.”“There’s a hotshot from Ontario who I’ll have to beat,” she pointed out with a smile and a shrug. “She has . It’s great to see. She’s not entitled to anything. She goes out there and works for everything she has.”Harms, 22, is in her fifth year with the Huskies program and fourth year of U Sports eligibility. She plans to return for her fifth and final year.“I was actually in Grade 12 when I started wrestling — it was really late,” recalled Harms, who declined an invite for the sport a few years earlier.
“When I came back, that’s when I quit volleyball, basketball and I played AA Comets . I thought, ‘let’s try wrestling.’ ”Article contentThe championship was cancelled last year and there was no wrestling the year before due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
