During the Queen's 70-year reign, she spent a lot of her time at Windsor Castle - but she also didn't venture to one of the other properties on the estate that has been earmarked for the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Her Majesty spent much of her time at Windsor Castle. However, one location on the estate she didn't frequent was Fort Belvedere, built in the 1750s for Prince William Augustus.
George IV significantly upgraded the Royal dwelling, adding an octagonal dining room, a three-storey annex, and a towering flagpole. Queen Victoria later transformed the property into a tea house, which opened to the public in the 1860s.After moving into the property in 1929, he invested further in the castle. He would later become Edward VIII.
Edward then assumed the title of Duke of Windsor and left the property, which was vacant until 1955. Following this period, it became the home of the Queen's cousin Gerald Lascelles.
