Latest Covid symptoms as cases surge 25% ahead of Christmas
Professor Tim Spector, co-founder of the Covid-19 ZOE app, said that colds are still much more common, though it can be difficult to tell the two apart. It comes as the number of patients in hospital with flu in England has "skyrocketed" while Strep A is driving "near record" demand for NHS 111 services, new data suggests.
A cough or shortness of breath seems to be standard with it comes to the virus, but other symptoms have made themselves known. Prof Spector today said case rates are "accelerating across the UK" with a 25% surge in the last week alone, reports the ECHO. "Anosmia used to be a key indicator of Covid-19, but only about 16% of people with the illness now experience it."
