EXCLUSIVE: Lauren Goodger and Mark Wright's breakup was explosive telly on TOWIE, and as Lauren prepares for her comeback, she explains why those scenes wouldn't air today
After filming more than 60 dramatic episodes during her first stint on The Only Way is Essex, there’s not a lot Lauren Goodger hasn’t lived out on screen. From the very first episode in October 2010, viewers became hooked on her storylines following her traumatic breakup with childhood sweetheart Mark Wright.
“There is nothing I regret and nothing I would change,” she said. “Everything that happened – good and bad – was exactly what was meant to happen." TOWIE's first ever episode on 10 October, 2010, on ITV2 focussed on the messy aftermath of Lauren's split from Mark, who is now married to Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan. It also featured Kirk Norcoss and Sam Faiers - with the latter becoming a source of heartache for Lauren when she and Mark grew closer.
As well as she herself being a changed woman, she also explained there had been some major changes behind the scenes too.
