Students, parents, and also school employees are part of the lawsuit filed against the Forest Hills School District school board, which recently approved a controversial 'Culture of Kindness' resolution.

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A southwest Ohio school district that recently passed a “Culture of Kindness” resolution prohibiting the teaching of anti-racism lessons is being sued by foes who say the resolution violates the U.S. Constitution.

The Lundrigans filed the lawsuit on behalf of several parents, students, educators and residents, who are named in the filing. The Enquirer reports the resolution says teachers from discussing “privilege of oppression” and also limits teaching “critical race theory,” a theory which is not taught in public schools but has been taught at the college level.

The lawsuit argues the resolution not only violates the First Amendment, but also the Fourteenth Amendment and the Civil Rights Act. It also argues the wording of the resolution has created confusion among teachers about what can and cannot be discussed.
