Veteran broadcaster Steve Allen has announced he is to leave the LBC radio station after 44 years.: "My contract with LBC is up shortly and, following discussions, I'm stepping down from LBC today",
A spokesperson from Global thanked the station's longest-serving presenter for his "enormous contribution". "We thank him for his enormous contribution to commercial radio over the past 44 years, making him one of the longest-serving radio broadcasters in the UK."Allen first worked as a nightclub DJ before broadcasting to workers in United Biscuits factories across the country.
