Leeds United are closing in on a season-long loan move for Bournemouth midfielder Joe Rothwell
A third addition of the summer is being chased by Leeds United in the shape of midfielder Joe Rothwell . The 29-year-old is surplus to requirements at Bournemouth and spent the second half of last season on loan at Southampton.
The former Manchester United trainee would follow Joe Rodon and Alex Cairns as the third signing of the window. Rothwell will have a week with the squad before the opening friendly against Harrogate Town and the subsequent training camp in Germany.Russell Martin added Rothwell to his Saints squad in January as they aimed for promotion to the Premier League.
Rothwell will join a midfield department that waved goodbye to Archie Gray last week. He is set to compete with Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara, Ilia Gruev and Charlie Crew for minutes from August 10.
