‘He’s going to run again’: Clayton Perry expected to seek re-election despite looming criminal investigation
Embroiled District 10 Counciman Clayton Perry makes his first appearance at City Council on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 about two months after he took leave following a drunk driving charge in November.
Perry was coy about his re-election plans Thursday, telling reporters: “I’m just first coming back to office. I haven’t even thought about that yet.” She’s never worked for Perry, so she doesn’t claim to know his thinking. But she knows campaign politics. Marc Whyte, a business-law attorney who ran unsuccessfully in the 2018 Republican primary for Texas House District 121, has bubbled up since the crash as a potential candidate in District 10.
