Letter: 'Mike Lee is embedded into the Senate, feeding off of the public and giving nothing in return. Two terms are enough. Please join me in digging this tick out of our body politic.'
. If only that was all that was wrong with this candidate, but the senator is nothing if not a fount of mendacity. Let me offer some thoughts I wanted to shout through the TV during the debate.
First, when confronted with his own words and actions about resisting the peaceful transition of power to a duly elected president, Lee does not explain himself. Rather he clutches his pearls and demands an apology. He has not ever addressed his comments aboutto overturn the election results. He has not addressed why he was seeking guidance from the very people seeking to overturn the process laid out in the Constitution that Lee supposedly venerates.
If McMullin feels he needs to offer an apology, it should not have to be too big. An apology about the size of a postage stamp should be large enough to cover Sen. Lee’s honor. Second, during the debate Lee gave his full throated support for the free market principle of price gouging citizens on Medicaid. He supports making citizens pay what the drug company deems a fair price, but in the same breath, he supports importing the same drugs for less from countries with free health care. Is that not a tacit admission that the U.S. health care system has failed us?
Mike Lee is embedded into the Senate, feeding off of the public and giving nothing in return. Two terms are enough. Please join me in digging this tick out of our body politic.
