A climate advocate notes fossil-fuel users aren’t evil and climate change is a global issue that needs addressing.“Root cause of the problem,”The letter writer believes if we stop, “sad parenting, radical teaching, poor policing, lax justice system, poor governmental leadership, and a total failure to instill good order and discipline in our youth” we will stop gun violence.
Please give us red flag laws, raise the age to buy guns to 21, and assault rifles should only be in the hands of the police and military. The topic of climate change causes many minds to close, eyes to roll and some to turn away. This silence is frustrating because misconceptions dominate and concerns are missed.
Another common belief is that those who advocate for climate change call industry and fossil-fuel users “evil.” In 1848, the Economist magazine said, “Suffering and evil are nature’s admonitions” and legislative actions produce more bad results than good. This mindset often leads to denial. In fact, the magazine has long ago changed its tune. Since the population has grown, so too do the ramifications.President Joe Biden calls it existential.
