One reader is shocked that DPS recently stepped in to remove protesters from the Texas State Capitol, but waited to act at Robb Elementary School during an active shooter incident where 19 elementary school students and two teachers were killed.Re: “Harris County elections targeted by GOP,” Front Page, May 3:In 2021 they passed Senate Bill 1 and Senate Bill 8 and this session continues the practice.
Restricting health care for transgender youth, ending countywide voting and mandating the Ten Commandments are just several of the recent bills.Barbara MoschnerI find it very ironic that DPS officers removed the “pro-transgender” protesters in the House gallery, but hundreds of law enforcement officers could not, or would not, remove one gunman from Robb Elementary.
Are they so scared of losing campaign donations and endorsements from gun groups to do what’s right and actually listen to the majority of their constituents?There is no doubt that assault rifles pose a great danger to the general public!
