Fox News broadcaster Tucker Carlson, as someone who espouses “replacement theory,” the same racist fantasy adhered to by the Buffalo mass shooter, should be publicly repudiated by every Republican leader who can still lay claim to a shred of decency.What more needs to happen? How many more innocent people must die before our country changes our gun laws? Every time a mass killing occurs, we hear our politicians say something needs to happen.
I also believe that with the freedom we enjoy in the United States comes responsibility. And allowing anyone other than the military and police to carry a weapon designed for multiple targets in a short time is wrong and very irresponsible. Allowing any civilian to have a semiautomatic rifle is not a responsible thing, and many countries don’t allow it. It’s arrogance and ego compromising common sense.
Poor permitting procedures for polluters and lack of legal redress always end up as being paid for by taxpayers, not polluters, and not to mention the trauma of neighborhoods devastated by toxins. Good luck getting the state of Texas to reimburse Dallas. In my opinion, many state leaders never met a molecule of pollution they didn’t love as long as it resulted in profits for their cozy polluters. It’s called privatization of the rewards and socialization of the risks.
My uncle, George Cox, born and raised in Ranger, Texas, went through flight training with John “Lucky” Luckadoo, from Provo, Utah, all the way to Thorpe Abbotts in England. I met Luckadoo at an air show at Dallas Executive Airport. He was a great guy to talk to.
