Letters to the Editor
Paul G. Hill, Garland1. Continuation of hoax- and pox-based demagoguery. Climate change is a hoax; southern border immigration is a pox. COVID-19 is a hoax; helping Ukraine is a pox. The Department of Education is a hoax; teacher unions are a pox.2. Contradictions were glaring. The GOP party wanted abortion states’ rights for 50 years but now wants national legislation.
5. Chris Christie provided the one “zinger” of the evening: “Whether the indictments are right or wrong, the personal conduct is bad.”I know that Republican legislators including Gov. Greg Abbott and Frisco Republican Jared Patterson are concerned about explicit sexual material in our schools.
A recent decision by the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals also states that laws like HB 2021 are unconstitutional. In the case of PCMA vs. Mulready, the court examined a similar Oklahoma law and found that employers who fund and craft their own benefits packages are regulated by federal, not state, law.
