Readers are so tired of gun violence; praise the Texas Rangers for making it to the World Series; ask the Texas GOP to do the right thing; and ask Hutchison to run for president.
This inspiring editorial hopefully is something that can help bring us all together regardless of our differences. One minor issue. Baseball is more than just a game. How many families bond by attending a baseball game together? How many people have been inspired by incredible athletic feats on the field?Great baseball books and movies also have inspired countless numbers of people.
Jordan Montgomery’s Game 7 performance was monumental. Just try to find a better first and second hitters than Marcus Semien and Corey Seager. How about Evan Carter crushing the ball after coming straight from the minors? Who is a better designated hitter than our own Mitch Garver? Barasch’s column, so well written, is exactly what the Texas GOP leadership needs to hear and act upon. The comment of his student Pierre, “It’s the right thing to do,” brings to mind the Bible passage from Isaiah 11:6, “A little child shall lead them.” How fitting!Re: “U.S. must lead a world on fire — We and our allies can keep tensions from spreading starting with 4 steps,” by Kay Bailey Hutchison, Thursday Opinion.
