Reader share a positive experience in Madisonville; appreciate DMN headline writers; and praise the Irving passport office for being fast.— Earlier in October, five of us little old ladies on a return trip from Galveston stopped at TX Burgerin Madisonville for lunch. We walked out to find a flat tire waiting for us.
Without hesitation, they leapt to our rescue saying that of course we didn’t have to pay. The job involved emptying the SUV of our luggage, removing the huge tire from below the backend, jacking up and putting on the tire. Then reloading everything — no small feat!Not only that, they put up with all of our silly banter as we watched them work. The mayor pro tem of Madisonville, Chris McGilbra, was one of the men.
