Lin-Manuel Miranda, Billy Porter and more call for better representation in Emmys PSA: 'We are more than a splash of color on your white canvas'
stars such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Billy Porter, Isis King, Daniel Dae Kim, Nicole Scherzinger and Jamie Chung called on industry leaders to make more efforts into making change and promote fair cultural representation in programming and advertising.
"We appreciate the dialogue. We see the effort from Hollywood but we need more. We are here. We've been here," the stars said as they alternated lines of the script.The actors called on leaders to showcase cultures correctly rather than rely on portrayals that abides by stereotypes:"Would you rather breathe life into stereotypes or stand up against them?" the stars challenged.
