Alessia Russo, forward for Super League club Arsenal and the England national team, will be hoping for a World Cup win – but she has also has links to the historic 1966 men's team
Lioness Alessia Russo is hoping to make history today as women's England team compete in the World Cup final.
Until the age of 15, Alessia Russo competed for Tonbridge Athletic Club alongside Ellie Cohen , who is the granddaughter of George. George's daughter in-law, Helen Cohen, who also used to train Alessia, said: "Everyone admired George and would want to come up and chat with him. It's expected that today, while on holiday in Finland, she will find a TV set so she can watch her old friend become a World Cup Winner, like her grandfather.
