Emergency services are at the scene this afternoon
Emergency services have been called to Salford Quays this afternoon after a ceiling collapsed into a restaurant.
Pictures from the scene show a number of ambulances and police vehicles in attendance. The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are leading on the incident.Paul Heilbron, Liberal Democrat councillor for the Quays, told the M.E.N: "If reports are correct, it is great to hear no one is seriously hurt.
"We were so scared, we just grabbed our children to get out. My sister in law was trying to get her baby out of the high chair. We were stood in the rain for a while."A video, taken by someone dining in the Turtle Bay restaurant next door, shows the ceiling which collapsed into the Pizza Express restaurant.
He said Pizza Express is 'a mess inside' and shared pictures of the collapsed ceiling, which appeared to land beside a table of diners."I live above," he said. "I walked outside and it had happened ten minutes earlier. Pizza Express is a mess inside and hopefully it’s just minor injuries.More pictures from the scene show scale of emergency services response
