2 major roads have been closed
The M1 is closed after a crash in the East Midlands. Police are currently at the scene following the incident on the southbound carriageway of the road at Junction 19, in Leicestershire.
According to Leicestershire Police, the lorry crashed into a barrier, 'leaving part of the vehicle and the barrier resting over the edge of the carriageway'. The driver has not suffered any serious injuries. The M1 southbound is closed between Junction 20 and Junction 19. The A14 is also closed in both directions - the road is under the M1.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the area where possible while arrangements are made to remove the vehicle and ensure both roads are safe to be reopened."
