Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a swoop for Martin Zubimendi, but the Reds could face a tough challenge to land the Real Sociedad ace. The 25-year-old defensive midfielder was a key figure in La Liga throughout the 2023/24 season, featuring in 31 matches under boss Imanol Alguacil and steering his team to a commendable sixth-place finish.
Speaking to El Diario Vasco during Euro 2024, as reported by ED, he said: 'Where am I going to play next season? I'm going to be at Real Sociedad.' He added: 'I have a contract with Real Sociedad and that's where I'm most comfortable.' A product of the club's youth system since 2016, following his move from Antiguoko in 2011, Zubimendi climbed the ranks, spending two years with the C team before stepping up to the B team in 2018.
