Liverpool have been rejected by Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi.
After missing out on their top target, Liverpool fans have called on the club to try and sign Alan Varela from Portuguese club Porto.Another tweeted: “There better be a pivot. Alan Varela in a nice bow of ribbon by lunchtime please.”
A third fan added: “I’m not sure what data Liverpool used in pursuing Martin Zubimendi, but after watching several clips, I believe Alan Varela is a better option. His dribbling, skills, passing, tackling, and ball retention are far more impressive than Zubimendi’s.”Someone else wrote: “Alan Varela is an elite #6. Surely a viable and attainable option who would jump at the chance to play alongside his countryman - Alexis Mac Allister.
