The Tanu Muino-directed video appears to take inspiration from The Muses in the 1997 Disney filmEmbracing Greek mythology sprinkled with just the right amount of ratchet, the two artists dressed as Greek goddesses, creating fun and raunchy Greek pottery and art. Cardi B also showed off her pregnancy bump, while Lizzo gave a quick PSA that Black people made Rock & Roll.
The lyrics, which Lizzo wrote back in February, are just as fun as the music video. While it can’t be easy living in a world where people spin narratives about you en masse on the internet, Lizzo finds a way to troll the haters. “Last year, I thought I would lose it/Read sh*t on the internet,” Lizzo admits, “My smoothie cleanse and my diet/No, I ain’t f**k Drake yet.
Now that the music video has officially been released, fans took to the internet to share their joy in the hashtag #Rumors, which even has a caricature of Lizzo and Cardi together in celebration of the premiere of the video.
