Wednesday the city will cut off water and power to houses or businesses that repeatedly hold large gatherings, taking the most aggressive action in the country to stop parties that violate local health orders meant to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
Garcetti said parties have been often thrown in vacant homes or short-term rental properties like Airbnbs, calling such gatherings “unsafe and can cost Angelenos their lives.”
