The Lough Erne Resort in Co Fermanagh has said it will 'increase due diligence' on its private events after a conference held by a far-right political party was the scene of a 'large altercation' on Sunday.Far-right Irish political group the National Party were hosting a conference at the five star hotel on Sunday when police say it was disrupted by a number of protestors.
"The health and safety of our staff and guests, along with our guest experience is paramount, and we will therefore be increasing our levels of due diligence in relation to private conference bookings in the future. In a speech made at the conference following the incident, its deputy leader James Reynolds said it was a 'criminal attack' carried out by 'red Communist thugs'.
