Mr Matturie originally stood trial alongside Ex-Man City player Benjamin Mendy
Prosecutors will not seek a second re-trial after jurors were unable to agree whether Louis Saha Matturie sexually assaulted a woman. Louis Matturie, 42, a friend of former Manchester City star Benjamin Mendy, had been found not guilty of other sexual offences including rape, after he was accused by a number of different women.
It marks the end of the joint legal proceedings against the former Manchester City footballer and his friend. Both men were found not guilty of all the allegations they were accused of, following a six month case in which they stood trial together, and two subsequent re-trials which they faced alone.READ MORE: The top stories across the M.E.N. today
Mr Matturie was cleared of eight counts of rape and four counts of sexual assault. The allegations concerned eight women. Since his acquittals, Mr Mendy has left the country and restarted his football career after signing for French Ligue 1 side Lorient. His contract with City expired last summer as his re-trial got underway.
