To some, 'Ted Lasso' was never as good as friends or family members swore it was. That’s what made it great. It was whatever it needed to be for the individual. Love it or hate it, its finale reminds us to 'have some fun,' chriskamrani writes:

Wrubel sat next to fellow writer Sasha Garron, who at the very end of the finale, said she cried on seven different occasions.

as a promo for NBC’s Premier League coverage. As Wrubel reminded, it was also a show set to headline a streaming service most hadn’t even heard of before its official launch in November 2019.“It was fun to imagine everything back in 2019, but there was absolutely no way of knowing,” Wrubel said of the heights the show continued to climb. “We were so under the radar. That was the crazy thing. Nobody understood what the words ‘Ted Lasso’ meant. Nobody knew what Apple TV+ was.

“Ted Lasso,” like every other series ever, never made everyone happy, because to think one can achieve such a task is to believe they have all the answers. Lasso didn’t, and never pretended to. Instead, it asked the audience to try and empathize with its series of characters from all different walks of life, all of whom descended onto the Richmond facility every week in that distinctive beautiful red and blue locker room, where the show so often soared.

The finale leaves many breadcrumbs along the way hinting we may not be finished with Richmond just yet. When reporter-turned-Richmond embedded novelist Trent Crimm leaves Ted a copy of his book, “The Lasso Way,” about the rise of the Greyhounds, Ted leaves him with a very Lassoian thought: “It’s not about me. It never was.” The original premise of the show was, sure, but the evolution moved the walls much closer on those inside the Richmond grounds each day.
