They ran their 'business' from an unassuming terraced house
Two men who ran a brothel from a residential street in Blackburn have been jailed for two years each.
One of the women, who was clearly pregnant, was taken to hospital. All three men were arrested, Ms Kehoe told the court. Officers analysed mobile phones which were seized from the address and were able to attribute them to Calin and Eftimie. They discovered adverts for sexual services and contact with customers who were paying for sex. There was also contact between the defendants and the two women who were at the address.
Calin's defence, Zahra Baqri, said her client accepted a prison sentence was inevitable but once he is released he plans to return to his home in Romania and work in the construction trade. Eftimie's defence said he remains in a loving relationship with his partner, 'even if there was a joint decision she would earn money in the way she did'. The couple now have a child together, the court heard.
