LSU's offense overwhelms Caitlin Clark and Iowa in an NCAA championship win that makes Kim Mulkey the first coach to win national titles with different teams.

Kim Mulkey had tears of joy streaming down her face as she guided Louisiana State to its first national championship.

“Coaches coach a lifetime and this is the fourth time I’ve been blessed,” Mulkey said. “Never in the history of LSU basketball, men or women, has ever played for a championship.”Jaylen Clark, who played a leading role in helping UCLA win the Pac-12 regular-season title, has won the Naismith defensive player of the year award.

The Hawkeyes trailed 73-64 with 1:03 left in the third quarter when Clark was called for a technical foul. She swatted the ball away on the floor after a foul call against a teammate. That counted as a personal foul for her, her fourth of the game.
