Loyola Ramblers star Lucas Williamson is helping bring the famous 1963 National Championship team to the big screen.
The process would not be an easy one. The pandemic presented many obstacles for Williamson. Instead of a production studio, COVID restrictions limited him to recording in a closet, the quietest room in his Chicago apartment. He still has yet to meet the full production team after two years of being involved.
While careful to avoid spoilers, Williamson said there are many stories in the film that will stick with the viewer. He shared that there will be moments that will make the viewer question the character of individuals involved in the story. What Williamson was able to take away from the film was that “in real life, nothing is black and white.”
“In a sense, but I want to make very clear that Jerry’s legacy is Jerry’s legacy,” he noted, adding that “he is a staple of Loyola basketball history forever.”
